The necessity of field trips

To understand the outside, to enjoy the fields open to us.
To learn about the inside through visiting what is outside.

A long weekend as such offers many possibilities of creative ventures into this city and others. It is bittersweet to announce as I cannot attend, yet I must as it’s such a joy that this music maker will be in Chicago. I speak of Apparat, German electronic musician who performs at Lincoln Hall this Monday the 28th.   His latest album from 2011, The Devil’s Walk, released on Mute records offers easy landscapes of sound, complex they are in mechanics but gentle on the ears.

So wherever your trips on the field take you this weekend, take good notes and let your feet float.
