To all the movers and shakers

Who make it east, west, north or south to that city of the narrow/strait as the French refer to her or Detroit to us anglophones. Do yourself a favor and make a stop at the Detroit Institute of Arts, otherwise known as the DIA.
The main draw is Diego Rivera’s murals celebrating industriality and warning of its effects at the same time.  Photographs do not do any artwork or museum justice, so I have offered a photograph of a building across the street from one of the museum’s exits to showcase the significance of visiting an area such as this one. The DIA is not only sound in the permanent collection that it boasts which ranges from Egyptian mummies to Paul Klee but also in its utilization and enhancement of the space that it inhabits.  Most surely one of the American museums as well as cities to visit in order to have a “true” homegrown experience.  Take a hat with you, it’ll make the experience all the more authentic .
