Mondays are for Memories

source:hel-looks.com

If I had to save only three films from the countless on this hard drive, then they’d have to come from Kaurismaki and Kusturica,
K being a good letter as such.

Kaurismaki’s films opened the door to Finland and Kusturica’s to Yugoslavia.
From one love grow others, thus from Aki came the need for more Finnish inspiration which led to Hel Looks, by far the best street style blog out there as the Finns and their clothing choices are dreamlike, daring, darling and dashing altogether. Doors and windows opened by Emir will be left for another time.

Musically, a Finnish representative will appear in Chicago this coming Monday, the 29th of October.  Magnus Lindberg, former NY Philharmonic composer, will perform as part of MusicNOW’s debut event of the season: Souvenir.  In addition to the classical stylings of Lindberg, an electro-acoustic quartet offered by Anna Clyne will be heard as well as further essentials in the classical realm offered by Edmund Finnis, a London-based composer of quite necessary sounds.

Such an evening will not be limited to the main hall, pre and post-concert music will be provided in the lobby of the Harris Theater by local musicians:  Justin Reed for an aperitif and M50 alongside Keter Darker and Ravi Batista as digestifs. Tickets are still available via here
